We just had a 5.8 (or 5.9) earthquake centered in DC/Richmond,VA. We felt shakes longing about 1 minute here in New York City! People have reported tremors as far as Martha’s Vineyard and Toronto!
The largest earthquake that DC had till today was a 3.6 richter scale.
US Geological Survey confirmed the earthquake was centered in central Virginia at 1:53PM Monday August 23, 2011
